National Bank of Malawi (NBM) says its award-winning digital platform, Mo626, will keep transforming lives as it marks 16 years of helping Malawians move money faster, safer and smarter.
Speaking in Lilongwe during the colourful closing ceremony of the Mo626@16 campaign, the bank’s Head of Marketing, Akossa Hiwa, said the platform has become part of everyday life for many Malawians who now handle business and personal payments at the tap of a button.
“Mo626 has simplified banking for everyone from big business owners to market vendors. It’s secure, quick and always evolving with new features that meet customer needs,” said Hiwa.
Launhed in September 2024, the campaign has reached thousands of customers across the country, celebrating the impact of digital banking and promoting financial inclusion.
To wrap up the celebration, National Bank hosted a vibrant family event that brought together entrepreneurs, families, and Mo626 users to interact, network, and celebrate innovation.
Small business owner Chimwemwe Maloya of Oriatu Grills was among those who showcased their products and praised the bank for giving local businesses a spotlight.
“This partnership with National Bank means a lot. The event has boosted our visibility and allowed us to connect with new customers,” Maloya said.
The day wasn’t short of entertainment either with thrilling performances from Praise Umali, Temwa, and Fadah Moti, among others, lighting up the stage.
As the sun set on the celebrations, National Bank reaffirmed its commitment to driving Malawi’s digital future one Mo626 transaction at a time.
