
Lugari, Kakamega County – A family in Lugari is in deep distress following the mysterious disappearance of their relative, Linet Joynah Ngome, a teacher at Lwandeti D.E.B. Comprehensive School. The incident has left the community shocked and searching for answers.
Ms. Ngome was last seen leaving her home in the company of her husband. The following morning, her car was discovered abandoned near her ancestral home, with her personal belongings, including her clothes and shoes, still inside. The unusual circumstances raised alarm among family members and locals, who feared for her safety.
Community members, distraught by the situation, expressed anger and frustration. Some residents even staged protests, temporarily blocking roads to demand urgent action from authorities. Relatives and neighbors voiced suspicion, particularly regarding her husband, as he was reportedly the last person seen with her.
Local leaders quickly intervened. Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera appealed for public assistance in tracing Ms. Ngome, confirming that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had been mobilized to intensify the search. The abandoned vehicle was taken into evidence as part of ongoing investigations.
After days of uncertainty, there is a relief: Ms. Ngome has been found alive and is receiving medical care at a hospital in Webuye, Bungoma County. While the precise details of how she ended up missing are still emerging, her discovery has brought immense relief to her family and the wider community.
The case has highlighted not only the fragility of human safety but also the strength of community solidarity in times of crisis.
